Useful idea of Holland Papaya

Botanical feature

 

Holland Papaya is a softwood standing timber which has rough surface, white resin, and a longitudinal groove succulent plant. The height of a trunk is about 3-6 meters. There are no branches and piths on the tree. The leaves alternate around the summit area. A shape of leaf is deeply wavy and concave. A flower has 3 types which are stamen, pistil, and perfect flower.

The stamen has a warm white or ivory color and redolent. The pistil and the perfect flower are in clusters, or ivory inflorescence. A fruit shape depends on the breed, so it can be rotund or oval. The immature fruit has a green bark and white flesh. When the fruit is mature, the bark color will turn into amber, water and seeds are in the dark brown color and the flesh is soft.

How to plant the Holland Papaya tree

     Before you plant a papaya, you should truly know basic information about it first. The scientific name of Papaya is Carica papaya L. The tribe name is CARICACEAE. The ordinary name is Papaya. The local name is Maguaited, Guaited, and Laugau. The well growth papaya depends on atmosphere, nice drained sandy loam, and 6.0-6.8 soil PH. Ripe fruit and rare fruit are able to consume. The boiled resin of a papaya tree can increase maceration of food because the resin has a mild abrasive. A boiled sprout is able to consume in order to cure of apthous ulcer. Moreover, papaya is cooked as a papaya salad.

How to nourish the Holland Papaya tree

   The first step of planting a Holland Papaya is a soil preparation. You have to mix 3buckets of soil with manure, rice husk, and coarse sand together in ratio of 1: 1: 1. After that, you have to soak the soil that is in the bag. Next, you have to drop 1-2 papaya seeds in each bag, and always soak a soil. After the seeds grew up, you have to look after the sprout for 30 days. And then, you can move a sprout into the hole. A papaya has a deep wide root, so the rows of planting hole should be distance for 2-2.5 meters, between the trees 2 meters, and 0.5 meters depth of planting hole. Then, you prop up a hole with the 15-15-15 about 1 tablespoon chemical fertilizer. The next step is putting manure and compost which are well decomposing on the chemical fertilizer. Put a papaya sprout in the hole and cover the sprout’s base with a little bit of soil and compost. Finally, you have to cover it with straw or chaff, and water the sprout. To make sure that the papaya tree will not fall, you have to make a pillar in order to maintain a tree.
 

  

For fertilization, you should fertilize in 15-15-15 with 1 tablespoon in every 30 days. And, fertilize 14-14-21 after the papaya tree bear fruit already.

 

For watering, you should not water the tree too much because the papaya tree needs a few of water.

 

For Shoveling and weeding, you should shovel and weed at the incunabulum.

For doing a wood pillar, especially in the fruiting period, you have to do a wood pillar in order to prevent the falling down of the papaya tree.

 

For harvest the papaya tree, you can harvest rare fruit after plant for 5-6 months. Rape fruit can be harvested after plant for 8-10 months. The harvestable rape fruit must be yellow and

   green color. I will demonstrate you how to plant a Holland Papaya tree. First of all, to cultivate a Holland papaya seed, you have to soak a seed for 3 nights, and change the water 3 times per one day. Second, you have to cultivate 3-4 seeds in each soil bags, and water them every day. Third, to prepare the soil and plant the Holland Papaya, you have to plough in order to expand an area for plantation, desiccate a soil area for 5 days. Next, you have to dig a hole for 30 centimeters depth. Distance between each trees are 2.5x2.5 meters. Then, you prop up the hole with manure or organic fertilizer. After that, you bring the Holland Papaya tree into the hole, and tightly land up the tree. For maintenance, you have to moderately water it, drop a fertilizer in 12-15-20 for 1 time per 1 month.

   The Holland Papaya tree can bear fruits more than 100 kilograms per one stem. The price of fruit is 8-16 baht per kilogram. And, the price of a 1 kilogram seed which can plant trees for 50 rai is about 1,000 baht. The warm temperature can turn perfect flower into pistil, but the Holland Papaya tree will be able to bear a fruit in extremely hot temperature. The price of the Holland papaya will be increased in August-September. The Holland papaya weighs for 800-2,000 grams. The pulp is thick about 2.5-3.0 centimeters. Sweetness is 11-13 brix.
